Last week, Extole went on the road to talk about the power of Consumer-to-Consumer (C2C) social marketing and how brands can tap into their customers and turn them into an effective marketing channel that drives measurable social marketing results. We started off the week in Florida with our Co-founder and VP of Business Development, Andrew Beranbom, heading up Mediapost’s Social Media Insider Summit and then we were off to Las Vegas for Social Commerce Strategies to present a case study with Vistaprint. Both events proved to be a testament to social referrals and why all brands should be deploying such programs.
The Social Media Insider Summit, January 22 – 25th, was a meeting of the minds with top brands, agencies and thought-leaders on hand to discuss the future of social media. The intimate event was a breeding ground for new ideas and the exciting evolution of social media, with hot topics around ROI, social referrals, social commerce, mobile and Google+. Andrew focused his presentation on the convergence of social and search and what that means for marketers, as well as the role social referrals play in driving improved SERP. Andrew’s presentation was well received and warranted a write-up in the Medaipost blog, Raw. Raw editor, Joe Mandese, weighed in on his presentation saying, “The presentation showed how brands can utilize social media to amplify their marketing, and reminded attendees that for all the new bells and whistles, the fundamentals still apply.”
Social Commerce Strategies, the first annual event of its kind, was held in Las Vegas January 24 – 26th, and was also of the more intimate nature, with about 150 attendees in total. The event focused on monetizing social engagement and had attendees from all brand verticals. Extole had the privilege to share the keynote presentation with Vistaprint, one of our longest standing customers. The case study highlighted the results the Vistaprint team has seen by harnessing the power of its customer advocates via our C2C Social Marketing Platform. Michele Farley of Vistaprint noted, “The social referral channel sees higher conversion rates than any other channel.” In addition, we were on a panel titled “Using the Power of Friends and Recommendations.”
All in all, it was a great week for Extole. Both the Social Media Insider Summit and the Social Commerce Strategies event further solidified our position in the social marketing space with social referral programs resonating as a “need to have” vs. a “nice to have.” If you would like to learn more about our platform and what social referrals can do for your brand, please contact us HERE.
